來自休團很久的 fun. 的吉他手 Jack Antonoff 的個人樂團 Bleachers
的第二張專輯首支主打曲，在 17 年三月底釋出的別拿金銀（?
如果不知道 Antonoff 也知道 fun. 歡樂樂團吧 ?!

Bleachers 是 Antonoff 自己的一人樂團
在 fun. 休團之後團員都各自有發展，Antonoff 的一個重心就是 Bleachers
於 2014 年發行首張專輯 "Strange Desire"
其中單曲 "I Wanna Get Better" 有不錯的回響，另外我個人很喜歡 "Rollercoaster" XD
然後 2017 發行了第二張專輯 "Gone Now" (譯:去了((誤
被 The Independent 評入 The 30 Best Albums of 2017
以及 NME's Albums of the Year 2017 年度五十張專輯之一
整張專輯 Antonoff 就是主角，除了 vocal 之外絕大多數編曲製作部分也是他
反正就是一個蠻全才的人 XD
在這之前也參與製作過許多知名歌曲如泰勒絲的 "Out of The Woods"
新專 Reputation 中許多歌曲如 "Look What You Made Me Do"
泰勒絲+贊恩的 "I Don't Wanna Live Forever"，P!nk 的單曲 "Beautiful Trauma"
還有 Lorde 的 "Melodrama"（除了 Homemade Dynamite 外都他製作）
總之是 Tay 和 Lorde 都很喜愛的音樂製作人

JACK: beyond the lyrics, so much of everything i’m working on is meant to have an intense push and pull between euphoria and sadness. “Don’t Take The Money” is the front door because it hold both of those feelings so specifically. that is the core of bleachers.

Antonoff 說就像進入屋子的前門，是這張專輯的入口
他把專輯比喻成一個屋子，有常經過或待著看電視或玩樂的客廳、有每晚待著的房間
有些歌像漂亮的大門讓人一眼瞧見，有些則在昏暗的角落裡很少人真正看見
但每一首歌扮演的角色都對專輯完整度有不可或缺的地位
"there's all these different things that bring you to different parts of the house. There's the rooms you live in a lot, the bedroom you sleep in every night, songs you go back to over and over again. Maybe the living room is where you watch TV, and have fun, and have parties, and I just see albums as houses."

Don’t take the money, that’s this phrase I say alot to myself in my head. It’s not about money, in any way, but it’s about not following that gut feeling.
Antonoff 在直播裡說道，"Don't take the money" 不是關於錢，
而是許多時候我們可能違背自己的直覺，妥協了，發現時才後悔
總在當下盲目地被太多因素遮住雙眼，看不到美好的結局而選擇走向山崖
但幸好 Antonoff 在拉扯之間，仍有人讓他看見對的方向
My feelings on love, which is essentially where the song comes from, have changed massively since I’ve been in the relationship that I’m in now. Which is... you start to realise how deep you can go when you really expose yourself to someone, and you really give them the version of yourself that’s a big mess. You let them sift(篩) through that with you, and the song is about two people coming together with all this baggage and these big messes.
「對愛的感受，基本上就是這首歌的緣由，自從我走進現在這段關係之後有很大的改變。就是… 你開始理解自己原來能對一個人如此坦然，而你真的讓他們看見自己最糟的那一面，也讓他們和自己一起成長（篩濾掉那些不好的），所以這首歌可以說是兩個人一同攜手扛起這些複雜紛亂的負擔。」
而歌名 "Don't take the money" 除了是對自己說，也是對另一個人說
讓我們都面對真實的自己，不要再逃避，別被那些無謂的自尊給蒙蔽
The verses are talking about the past, "Somebody broke me once." The line, "Love was a currency," is talking about all the messed up ways in which you could imagine loving someone. The pre-chorus is this big fight, and then the chorus is this massive euphoria that when you really love someone-- [it] comes after you’ve hit the bottom where you try to give someone every reason to leave you. You give them the worst parts of yourself, you yell and you fight, and all these things - "We fight, stay up late, in my dreams, I’m to blame" - all this crap, and then they don’t leave. And you finally are left at this place where you’re like, "Oh, you’re not gonna leave, I guess we can celebrate this love."

某個誰曾掏空了我的心
＞broke，在這裡除了是 break 的過去式、表傷心 (heart is broken) 的意思之外，也雙關了 broke 的形容詞：破產。所以在這裡選擇翻成掏空，心被掏空了、愛被用光而破產了。
Love was a currency
愛曾是被權衡的貨幣
＞CDM(Coup De Main) 的採訪中 Antonoff 說："I think that any form of emotion that's used as currency is a damaging one, and I think it's the way a lot of us interact with each other." 採訪人也說把愛情當作貨幣是個有趣的比喻，貨幣是用來利益交換、買賣的東西，但似乎兩個人之間的情感有時反而出現了這樣的得與失、付出與得到的權衡。
A shimmering balance act
一道閃耀如金的人生選擇題
＞a balancing act，字面上看是保持平衡的動作，用在生活中可以指說各種需要衡量的狀況、類似取捨的動作；例如你想做好工作又想顧好家庭，兩者都須要權衡兼顧，這就是 a balacing act。歌詞裡用 balance 應該只是因應歌詞的變化。
至於為什麼要 shimmering 我也不知道XDD，可能跟上一句的 currency 有關

＞就吵架兩個人背對背睡的意思XD 翻成楚河漢界這個很有中文淵源的詞不知道會不會很怪XD

你翻起白眼 我剃光眷戀
＞shave one's head 就是剃掉頭髮，在此因為很難猜出真正隱含意義，就找了點資料取剃掉頭髮即剃掉煩惱絲、斷開牽連(?)的大致意思；這裡可能也呼應後面的 "baby love me you got me, runaway" 以及前面介紹提到的，希望對方就別再和這樣的自己在一起了，快結束吧（但其實心裡不想結束）（很矛盾的情感）。

coup de main：在副歌裡你唱 "You make me feel it"，對你而言那個 "IT" 是什麼？
JACK: Well, I say, "You steal the air out of my lungs / You make me feel it," so specifically I’m talking about the feeling of when someone steals the air out of your lungs. When someone, in your lungs and your gut, you feel it all there. When the person who I’m with, who I love, can take my breath away, and then can really... to take someone’s breath away and make them feel it, it speaks to the power that someone does have.
Jack Antonoff：「噢，我寫 "You steal the air out of my lungs / You make me feel it"，這段歌詞裡的 it 特別是說彷彿某人把你肺裡氧氣偷光的感覺，當某人彷彿存在於你身體，你感受到他的存在；某個我愛的人、在我身邊的人，能讓我感到（悸動的）有些無法呼吸，並且讓我感受到這種衝擊（愛情）。這句歌詞就是說那個重要的人所擁有的力量。」

＞CDM: "When you're looking at your shadow / Standing on the edge of yourself," you sing in the talk-sing part of the song, which is a really introspective moment in the song. Have you found writing and recording this album a way to explore your own personality further?
coup de main：「當你獨自凝望自己的影子 / 佇立於自己的邊界」你用念唱的方式，表達這首歌裡這段令人反思的部分，你有覺得寫作與製作這張專輯是一個挖掘更深層自我的方式嗎？
JACK: Oh, deeply. I made this album mostly alone, in my apartment in New York. So I think in many ways it sounds like a person losing their mind alone in the room, trying to make sense of all these thoughts, and fears, and feelings.
Jack Antonoff：噢，的確，我幾乎自己一個人完成這張專輯，在我紐約的公寓裡，所以我想從很多角度聽來這張專輯像一個失去什麼的人，在房裡獨自努力想找出這些思緒的來由、這些恐懼與情感的脈絡。
